The Detour Deals Design System defines the reusable visual language behind the merchant dashboard. It brings consistency to navigation, forms, cards, spacing, and typography so merchants can scan data quickly and take action with confidence.
Why this system exists
The goal was to support a data-heavy dashboard with predictable UI patterns. Colors, spacing, and component structure were intentionally reduced to keep cognitive load low and ensure merchants don’t have to relearn patterns across screens.
How it was applied
The system was applied directly to core dashboard screens including analytics, activity feeds, deal lists, and the main navigation. Buttons and layouts use the spacing scale and corner radius established in the system for a unified feel.
Reflection
Building this system clarified how layout, color, and interaction patterns support quick scanning and reduce cognitive load for merchants. It also helped me formalize design principles I applied across the dashboard.
